Photography is Like the Art of Capturing Life.

Why we pick the topic of photography out of creative multimedia? Photography is the process, activity and art of creating still or moving pictures by recording radiation on a sensitive medium, such as a photographic film, or an electronic sensor. In FCM, we were learned to discover a new form of creativity in a medium called photography. Creativity is the process of involving the new idea or concept while multimedia is relating to the combination of various media. We can deliver our creativity through the shoot of the camera which we define here in our statement, “Photography is like the Art of Capturing Life”

Nowadays, photography becomes more familiar with our life. For photographer, they are always polishing their photography skills to maintain and succeed their career. Photography is also giving a big impact to the students. For example, FCM students are given assignment based on photography and each of them must have their own camera especially DSLR. Lecturers ask them to take a picture from different angle so that the picture becomes more interesting. At this moment students are become stressed of their assignment and have to think out of the box for getting a new idea. All students wanted to produce the best artwork which give a new significant to the photo. By the emotion and expression in the picture, the story can be told by itself.

Che Mat always mentioned, when capture a picture, never see things as an object that we know. For example, if we try to make a leading line in a composition of a picture, we must see the long branch from the tree as a line that go through to the main subject. It will automatically drive our eyes to the main subject. Not only that, shape and pattern, silhouette, foreground frame, reflection, and shadow really help in enhance creativity in a picture. An eye level of a picture with a single person in the middle of huge building is really a boring shoot. Since we have been thought this way, our eyes are not normal as before. Our brain keep composing picture with the elements in the surrounding. I think that’s make creative people outstanding than normal people.

Apart from the photography, the most important things about the photography are the composition of the picture itself. One thing we can do about the photography is following the rule of third. Rule of Thirds is not really necessarily a rule, as much as it is a suggestion that tends to add more tension, energy, boring, happiness, sad and interest or even anger into the photo. Besides, the composition of the angle captured is the serious matter either it was taken from down or high from the talent or object, the picture will look very nice and attractive compared to the eye viewed angle capture.

An aperture is a hole or an opening through which light travels. The aperture stop of a photographic lens can be adjusted to control the amount of light reaching the film or image sensor. The more we know about the aperture the better artwork that we produce. Using aperture is to give more impact to the picture. The picture will become blur and very sharp on the focus point. Many things that can explore by play with the aperture.

As for the shutter of the each camera, we can set it for slow shutter or fast click shutter. The shutter is used for capturing the moving object such as athlete running on the track, butterfly start to fly through and etc.
Basically, people will edit the picture with Adobe Photoshop to give more effects on it. They can play with the colors, crop, and etc.

Other than that, many types of income come from photography for example becoming a great photographer, model, and for successful photographer basically most of them open their own studio. Our graduated senior who is known as Saiful Nang, are popular among marriage couple. His WeddingKami website always got high booking and people tend to hire him as official photographer in their weddings and certain occasion.

For the professional photographer, they often asked for the candid picture or still picture for the wedding, graduation or an event such as birthday party and etc. The picture taken will be more meaningful and nice story for the picture itself. The photography will be taken on action for either small or big of the event. Memories will never fade away as the picture is.

Therefore, we know that photography teach us how to learn more about producing an art, being more creative and think out of the box. When applying the skills of photography, the outcome will be our irreplaceable memories. Hence, novelty, creativity, innovation and invention of photography are like circle which keep rotating and it apply effectively in our daily life.
